About Us

MATHEW THOMAS TANKERSLEY, Reynolds, Georgia

Knit that comes back to shape

The test we run on every knit dress is simple: wear it for a day, sit in it, then look at the elbows, the seat and the neckline. A yarn that stays where it was put is worth the extra cost, and it is the reason we choose heavier gauges for the pieces meant to be worn to work rather than only to dinner. Ribbing is worked tighter at the cuffs and the hem so the shape recovers after it is pulled over the head. We also check how a knit behaves under a coat, because a dress that bunches at the shoulder is a dress that stays in the wardrobe.

Lace at the edge, never in the way

Lace appears on our tops as a trim rather than a layer: a narrow band at a V neckline, a cuff that finishes a puffed sleeve, a collar that sits just under the jaw. It is chosen in the same colour as the garment so it reads as texture rather than decoration, and it is stitched with a soft thread so it does not scratch at the neck. Shirred panels are tested for recovery after stretching, and velour is checked for crush marks after an hour in a bag. Small decisions like these separate a top that gets worn weekly from one that gets worn once and then folded away.

Sizing, shipping and returns

Our size chart is built from measurements taken on the production samples, not on the model, and the two do not always agree. If your bust and waist fall into different sizes, choose the larger one and let the knit do the rest, or write to us and we will tell you which way a particular style runs. Orders are dispatched from Reynolds, Georgia within one to two business days, and tracking is emailed as soon as the label is printed. Unworn items with tags can be returned within thirty days for a refund, and a faulty piece is always our responsibility, whichever season it was bought in.
